I love Fridays. My kids love Fridays. When a Friday comes around, that means we can stay home for two days, go for bike rides. Daddy doesn't go to work. We can watch movies and be silly. Or go geocaching. That is what we did last weekend. Well, a little more than that. We went camping and geocaching. We left Vancouver on Friday and went to Squamish. We've stayed at Paradise Valley Campground. It is a great place. Then, on Saturday morning, we left for Cache Creek. Across a snowy mountain, to the other side... We've stopped at the Seton Lake to rest and give our motorhome some rest as well. You can see behind our motorhome the mountain we went over.

After a break, we kept going until we've reached Hat Creek Ranch. What a great place!!! I've seen some things that I've only heard of before. The boys learned a lot in those two days. About the old times, about first nations, mainly Shuswap. We've seen Shuswap dancers, a kekuli, and a lean-to, and a sweat lodge... We've seen an old road house and all the old stuff in it... Well, take a look for yourself:

The boys having a ride in a stage coach while still in their pyjamas:

A Shuswap dancer:

Old cigar cutter:

Playing cards with no numbers, not many knew how to read back then:

Ice cream maker:

I was in heaven with all this old, old stuff around me. Oh to have some of it for my displays at the shows!

And here is our Geocache:

Mentioning shows, I will be at Portobello West Art and Fashion Market on Sunday, May 29th. It costs only $2 to enter, so come and see me!

Here is some of the new stuff I will have at my table:

These are three bottle cap pendants with a chain packages.

These are some of the scrabble tile cufflinks I've made:

The next items are made of upcycled bamboo tiles. Love these...

The pictures are not the best. It is very late and I am tired. It was a quick shoot and dash for bed...

Oy, this turned into a really lengthy post, eh? One more thing to mention... Two new classes coming up. On June 18th, I will be teaching a class for those men in your lives - fathers, brothers, husbands, you know those guys we all love so much... Lookie:

Yes, I know it is really, really close to Father's Day, but I have no other opportunity to teach this. So, come and get some cards ready for Sunday.

On June 25th, I will be teaching... drum roll, please... a TIM HOLTZ class!!! Come and play with his products and get dirty his style.

I will be posting exact times and details on Monday, so come back then.

Phew! See, it is better when I am quiet, eh? When I start, can't stop, I tell ya'. :-) Gotta go now.

Blog ya' later,

I hope you all had a great Christmas. We sure did. We spoiled our kids rotten, and let me tell you, they deserve every bit of it. My house has turned into a LEGO central, we've spent days putting together all the stuff they've been given. My older son was also given a real newtonian telescope and we're hoping to try it out tomorrow. We are all very excited about that. I can tell you that all our camping trips next year will be planned around the light pollution. :-)

I am also trying to put together a classes and clubs schedule for the next 6 months. I am opening a new club in February, so let me know if you would like to join us, or you know someone else who would like to do so.

Today, SU announced big changes in our colour palette. Quite a few colours retiring, some old In-Colors being brought back, and some brand new colours. We will have 4 colour collections, each with 10 colours. In July, we get 5 new In-colors, and they will be active for 2 years. Next year, we get 5 new In-colors, and they will be around for two years as well. So, from 2011, we will have 10 In-colors and 40 core colours. Lookie:

At first, I was unsure if I liked this change, now I am tickled pink. I can hardly wait to get my hot little hands on these beautiful new colours.

I think I am ready to start posting again. The last few months were extremely busy for me. Sales of my cards took off like crazy, thanks to my contract with IGA West Vancouver and I simply had no time for anything else. Add my two kids and husband to the mix, volunteering in Milan's school, volunteering at West Side Family place, ... I was one busy bee. Anyway... I've finally put my classes schedule together and here it is:

TECHNIQUE CLUB

I am starting a new technique club. A technique club is a group of 8 crafters that get together once a month at my place and learn new paper crafting techniques in a relaxed and friendly environment. There are couple of spots left - let me know if you would like to join us. This club will be on the second Saturday of every month.

8 months of complimentary classes, one month where you receive Hostess benefits - Level 1 stamp set and $20 shopping spree. All you need to do is commit to purchasing $25 each month in products - that's it!

CLASSES

Are you ready for new classes? I am very excited about them. I am including pictures of the projects we will make. Please note that you have to sign up for a class at least one week prior to the class so I can prepare enough kits. All classes are available for purchase as a kit to go, shipping is not included in the price. (There wouldn't be a shipping charge if you are picking a kit up from me.)

Here is the schedule for the next three months. I will be adding technique classes to this schedule and let you know when I schedule them.

Wow! I've been living in Vancouver for about 15 years now, I don't remember a summer as hot as this one. So, I decided to do a watercolouring class (it's hot - water - watercoloring - can you follow this one, huh? LOL). It will be on Saturday, August 22nd, 2-5 PM at my place. The cost is $20. Please e-mail me to sign up or pre-pay using Pay Pal (look on the side bar). You will get everything you need to make three cards - papers and pre-stamped images, plus detailed instructions. Here are couple of samples done with High Hopes stamps. I was too lazy to change my watermark, so it still says Stampin' Up. High Hopes is going wholesale only, I am not very happy about that, I must admit. Now I have to find a retailer with the biggest selection of their stamps, I think they are just adorable. I can foresee an extensive research coming up.

Supplies Used:
Paper: watercolouring paper (SU!), Soft Suede (SU!), Soft Suede (SU!), Natural White (SU!)
Ink: Black Staz-On, selection of SU! inks for colouring
Stamps: High Hopes stamps - forgot their name
Other: dimensionals (SU!), paper snips (SU!), blender pens (SU!)

I hope you like new look of my blog. I sure do. I still have to work on posting my links again, so if yours is missing, please don't be alarmed. Unfortunately, I have to re-enter all of them again.

And, by the way, my Open House was a HUGE success. A big thank you to all who showed up. Maybe I post the projects from that day in my next post.

Be sun smart with this heat wave. Stay in the shade and stamp. Blog y'a all later.
